You've done it. You have taken the first step to a healthier you. You came to this website. Yes, it IS a first step! Come. Walk with me through my journey...
See that "before" picture? I don't have many because I spent years placing myself behind the camera. I didn't want to see what was right in front of me. I made excuses for adding weight to my frame, for adding larger sizes to my clothes and for not exercising at all.
A year ago, I weighed over two hundred pounds. I had high blood pressure. I was on cholesterol medication. I didn't feel good. I didn't look good. I also didn't care about myself. Diets did not work-when I cared to try them.
I'm here to tell you this: You have to exercise to get fit. You have to keep exercising to become healthy and strong. There is no magic pill or potion to help you lose weight and keep it off. Think about it: If it were that easy, there would be no overweight people ANYWHERE!
Breaking Barriers Boot Camp with Christy Dunton is not easy. Nothing worthwhile ever is. When I started, I was nauseated and could barely get through the warm up. I kept at it. I was so sore after just one workout that I could barely move. I was ashamed at how much I had neglected my body. I kept going and made a vow to myself to stick with it.
In bootcamp, I have never felt intimidated. I am surrounded by people from all walks of life, of all sizes and ages. The camaraderie is like no other. Friendships and support systems form. At the root is Christy. She is my rock, my Top. She is a gifted and knowledgeable trainer with an endless supply of energy, information and she truly cares about your health. Her love of physical fitness is contagious-even to someone like I used to be.
See my "after" pictures? They shouldn't be labeled that-there is no after. I will never be through. But, look at me now! With Breaking Barriers, I am on the top of my game. I am off cholesterol meds and have the blood pressure of an athlete. I feel great, I look great and I am happy!
My name is Melanie Weaver. I am 42 years old and, today, I am 148 pounds and I am still on my journey.
